Carrymore Trip 2020

YEAR 6 – January 16th 2020 – Carymoor Environmental Centre

Where are

we going?

Carymoor Environmental Centre, Castle Cary.

Why are we

going there?

The children will see where their rubbish goes and what happens after the rubbish lorries have dumped it on site. We’ll visit the large-scale composting facility and find out how garden waste is recycled, with the help of some teeny-tiny creatures. We will also have the opportunity to check out the 'Rubbish juice' treatment work where we’ll find out what 'juices' come out of our rubbish and the importance of cleaning it all up. Plus much more…

When are we

going there?

The trip will take place on Thursday January 16th, 2020.  We will leave school at 09.00am and hope to return at 15.00.

What should

children bring?

No money will be needed by the children on the day.

What about lunch?

The children will need to bring a packed lunch. If your child receives free school meals we will provide a packed lunch unless you advise otherwise.

What should

children wear?

Please ensure children have warm clothes, including a coat, and practical footwear for muddy fields. We will be spending time both indoors and outside, so some spare clothing would be sensible, especially footwear.

How much

will it cost?

The cost of the trip is £8.00. This is heavily subsidised by the school.

Parents of Pupil Premium children, please contact the office about the cost.

Please note that if we do not receive enough funding support, it will not be possible for the trip to go ahead.

Please fill in the permission slip below and return it to the office with either money or a cheque made payable to “Somerset County Council” by 20th December. Alternatively, please visit: www.scopay.com/eastoverprimary to log in to your Parent Tucasi account where you can book your child’s place on the trip and make payment.

Thank you
