Year 4 Letters

Dear Parent/Carer Proposed Year 4 Residential visit to Monday, 4th April 2022 to Tuesday, 5th April 2022 We are writing to share exciting news regarding our forthcoming residential trip to Magdalen Farm, Winsham, Maudlin, Chard. The programme provides exciting opportunities for outdoor learning and adventures on an organic working farm set in beautiful countryside surroundings. Children will be enabled to participate in pursuits such as den building, orienteering, feeding the farm animals and art activities, as well as the chance to explore the River Axe to link with our geography topic on rivers and the water cycle. The level of instruction and supervision is excellent; safety is paramount. In addition, the children will also be supported by staff members, guaranteeing a safe learning experience with plenty of activity. The fully inclusive cost of the trip is £65. If your child is entitled to Pupil Premium please speak to the school office. This includes transport to and from Magdalen, accommodation for one night, all meals (packed lunch needs to be provided for the first day) and all activities, instruction and equipment. Both Year 4 classes will spend one night at Magdalen departing on the morning of Monday, 4th April 2022 and returning on the afternoon of Tuesday, 5th April 2022. Details of the itinerary and kit list will be issued in the New Year closer to the departure date. Please be aware that children are expected to be in school on Wednesday, 6th April 2022 after their return. This is an initial letter to gauge interest for the proposed trip and offer the opportunity to start paying. An initial non-refundable deposit of £25 will secure your child’s place and needs to be paid into the school office by 20th October 2021. The remaining balance of £40 needs to be paid by 4th February 2022. Please visit: to log in to your Parent Tucasi account where you can book your child’s place on the trip, give consent and make payments. We hope you will agree that this is good value and that enough parents are interested to enable us to go ahead with this trip. This is a unique and brilliant opportunity for your child to overcome challenges and be away from home. The confidence they will gain and the relationships they will forge will stand them in good stead for the rest of their time at Eastover and then beyond. Yours sincerely Year 4 Team
