World Book Day – 5th March 2020

Next Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day. The children are encouraged to dress up as characters from a book if they would like to. Teachers will also bring their favourite children’s story and will share it with a different class.

Our theme this year is ‘Book Swap’. If your child would like to bring a book that they have read and no longer want to keep, they can swap it for another.

Competition! – Children in KS2 can write a book review of their favourite book and bring it in on Thursday.  In KS1, they can draw a picture of a book cover or character from a book they love, there will be a prize for the best examples.

Each child will receive a book token for £1.00. This can be exchanged for one of a range of specially published books for Book Day or can be used as £1.00 towards any other book. Most major bookshops will stock the special books; unfortunately we are not able to sell them as a school.

Please encourage your child to explore the special website which has lots of games, quizzes and information about authors and books on it.
