Year 6 Letters

Dear Parent/Carer,

We have identified that your child was unable to swim 25m when they last swam with us in Year 4. As this is a requirement of the National Curriculum, we have organised an after-school club which will run on a Monday each week from the 13th May until the 8th July, where the aim will be to enable them to achieve this standard.

We will transport children from school at 2:45pm to 1610 where they will change, swim and then get changed back into uniform again. Once changed, the children will be taken outside the front entry of 1610 at 4:00pm, where they will need to be collected/ walk home with permission (please indicate via Sco-pay when signing up).

The club will be limited to 30 spaces and will work on a first come, first served basis. However, once your child has achieved the standard and can confidently swim 25m, they will no longer be required to attend and instead their place will be offered to a child on the waiting list. The aim of this is for us to get as many children swimming 25m as possible.

Please can I ask that if your child swims outside of school and has already achieved this standard, you let your child’s teacher know and show them evidence of this (if possible) so that we can update our records.

This club will be paid for by the Sports Premium Grant and therefore there will be no charge to you.

If you would like your child to attend this club, can you please sign up via Sco-pay as normal.

Any questions or queries please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Many Thanks,

Mr Fleet

A fun-filled morning at Allstars Bowling, Northgate Yard where the children will get to spend time with friends and enjoy the facilities at the new bowling alley. We have hired the lanes, shuffle boards, karaoke room and smart darts so there will be plenty to keep them entertained!!

Crealy Trip – Tuesday 16th July 9.00am – 5.00pm

An action-packed day down at Crealy Adventure Park, Exeter. We will leave school promptly at 9.00am returning to school at 5.00pm. Children will need to bring a drink, snacks, a packed lunch and some spare clothing including a hat/cap. Please ensure children have applied sun cream and bring some along with them too. Spending money is limited to £10 and children will be responsible for this. Children will be allowed to bring their mobile phones with them but there will be strict rules regarding their use during the day and we accept no responsibility if they are lost or damaged.

Leavers’ BBQ and disco - Wednesday 17th July 3.30pm – 5.30pm

Starting at 3.30pm, we would like to invite your child along to our Leavers’ BBQ which will take place on the school field. We will be playing a selection of party games; music and the PTA will provide a BBQ with refreshments. Children may come to school in non-uniform.

Leavers’ Assembly - Friday 19th July 9.00am – 10.30am

Starting at 9.00am, we would like to invite you into school to celebrate your child’s last day at Eastover. The assembly will last roughly sixty minutes and give our Y6 children the opportunity to perform several songs from their amazing production, as well as showing their appreciation to the staff, parents and carers who have helped and supported them throughout their time with us.

Many thanks,

Year 6
