Year 2 Dunster Castle Trip Letter 

Dunster Castle – Year 2 – Tuesday 17th June 2025 

Where are  we going?	Dunster Castle, Minehead
Why are we  going there?	This trip is to support the children’s learning in history, where we are learning about monarchs and castles.
When are we  going there?	The trip will take place on Tuesday 17th June 2025.  We will leave school at 9 AM and hope to return by 3 PM.
What should  children bring?	No money will be needed by the children on the day.
What about lunch?	You can order a school packed lunch via Innovate or you can provide a home packed lunch.
What should  children wear?	School uniform. A bag will be needed, as your child will be responsible for their packed lunch and drink.  Please see our class boards for any other information nearer the time,
How much  will it cost?	The cost of the trip is £2. This is heavily subsidised by the school.   Parents of Pupil Premium children, please contact the office about the cost.  Please note that if we do not receive enough funding support, it will not be possible for the trip to go ahead.

Year 2 Swimming 2024 - 2025

Dear Parent/Carer

We are writing to advise you of the arrangements for the Year 2 Swimming Programme for the 2024-2025 academic school year. The children will have 10 weeks of 30-minute swimming sessions split into 2 blocks between 9^th December to the 20^th January (5 Sessions ) and the 2^nd of June to the 30^th of June (5 Sessions). Swimming sessions will take place at 1610 Chilton Sports Centre. The children will be taught in their two separate classes.

Block 1-

9th December 2024 

16^th December 2024

6^th January 2025

13^th January 2025

20^th January 2025

Block 2-

2^nd June 2025

9^th June 2025

16^th June 2025

23^rd June 2025

30^th June 2025

7th July 2025 (rearranged from cancelled session)

The school will fund the cost of the swimming tuition and we are asking for parents to contribute for the transport only which will be a cost of £25.00. Please visit: www.scopay.com/eastoverprimary to log in to your Child’s Scopay account where you can make payment by Monday 2^nd December 2024. If insufficient contributions are made towards transport costs, we may have to consider alternative arrangements i.e. walking to and from the swimming pool.

Swimming forms a crucial and compulsory part of the children’s P.E. curriculum and is a ‘life-skill’ that children need for their own safety.  We hope that you will be able to support the school in fulfilling the swimming programme by ensuring that your child has a swimming kit with them on swimming days.
