Thursday 28th November – Monday 23rd December: Post Your Letter to Santa

Our North pole post box is returning to Bridgwater Library for children to post their letters to Santa! If letters include the child’s name and an email address for their grown-up, Santa might even send them a reply!

Our colouring wall for December is Snow Globes. Pop in and design your own snow globes to help us decorate our craft cupboards.

SS&L will be running a fun workshop for all the family. Explore stories together, create story book art and have a go at making your own winter stories. This event is free for those who are aged 19 or over:

who live in Somerset (not including Bath & North-East Somerset/North Somerset)

AND have lived in the UK/EU for the last 3 years or have leave to remain

Saturday 14th December 10:30am-12:30pm: Zine Club

We’re hosting a free workshop for young people aged 10-16 to make their own zines, which are handmade publications, pamphlets or mini-books that you make yourself, usually at home, using whatever materials you have on hand. Attendees will be encouraged to remix and reinterpret a range of materials using just scissors, glue and a photocopier, and will then be shown how to fold, collate and reproduce their zines! Spaces on this session are free but very limited, so places will need to be booked by emailing brwlib@somerset.gov.uk, messaging Somerset Libraries Bridgwater on Facebook or speaking to library staff in person.

Wednesday 18th December – Saturday 11th January: ‘Shh… Do Not Disturb!’ Hibernating Animals Treasure Hunt

Students from Bridgwater College have kindly put together our treasure hunt for us this Christmas holiday! Count all the hibernating animals hidden around the library to receive a special sticker prize.

Monday 23rd December 10am-12pm: RSPCA Christmas Workshop & Craft

Alex from the RSPCA will be joining us again this Christmas for another fantastic workshop and craft session. Come along and make your own reindeer food ready for Christmas Eve! This session is a drop-in so there’s no need to book, just come along and join in.

Warm Coats Scheme

Our warm coats scheme is back this winter and we’ve had so many generous donations of coats already. Our warm coat bank is available in our foyer and anyone who needs one is welcome to take one, completely free of charge. We have a range of men’s, women’s and children’s coats all available in a range of sizes. We are also still accepting donations of coats, but we ask that they be in good condition, preferably washed, and please remember to check the pockets!
