Whole School Weekly Bulletin 13/09/2024

Whole School:

 

  • Please ensure you have ordered your child’s school lunch for the whole week before midnight on Saturday 14th September. As far as we know all ordering issues have been resolved. If you are still having problems please contact innovate directly and provide your child with a packed lunch.

 

  • Please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform to school every day. As the weather is getting colder please send your child to school with a coat, water bottle and a school bag. Children should not wear jewellery to school. All uniform should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

 

  • Please make sure you are frequently checking your child(ren) for head lice. If you find live lice, please make sure you are treating them before returning to school.

 

  • Next weeks 'Welcome to Year...' meetings for parents will take place in the classrooms. This will be for 15-20 minutes. 

            Foundation Stage and Year one- Tuesday the 17th at 3:15pm

            Year two, three, four, five and six- Wednesday the 18th at 3:15pm                                                                                                              

 

  • Open days for Eastover’s September 2025 new intake children will be confirmed and uploaded to the website by the end of next week.

 

 

  • If your child competed in the Summer Reading Challenge, please could they take their certificates and medals to Mrs Tustin in the library so that they can receive their ten house points.

 

  • Did you know Asda are currently running a promotion where they will donate 0.5% of your shopping bill to your school of choice. You just need the Asda rewards app, add Eastover as your chosen school and remember to scan it when you shop.

 

 

  • Foundation Stage & Year 1 parents are invited to a reading and phonics information workshop on Friday the 27th of September at 2:30. This will be in the school hall. Please sign up with your child’s class teacher if you would like to attend.

  • Year 3 swimming is on Monday, please make sure you are sending your child in with a swimming kit and towel for this.

 

  • Year 6 Residential: If you haven't already done so for the Year 6 Residential to Dartmoor Activity Centre in May, please visit your child's online Scopay account to make a payment in order to secure your child's place. Information for the residential will be given at the meeting on Wednesday the 18th of September.

 

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility

  • If you are concerned about the safety of a child/children please phone the school office on 01278 422693 and ask to speak to the safeguarding lead.
  • If you have a concern outside of school hours you can contact Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224 (Daytime) or 0300 123 2327 (Out of Hours) for immediate assistance.
  • You can also report concerns to NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
  • To support us in safeguarding your children, please make sure that we have at least two up to date contact telephone numbers.
  • https://ineqe.com/ is a great website which contains safeguarding information for parents, including E-Safety.
