After School Clubs February – March 2026

After-school clubs have gone live today to start the week commencing Monday 23rd February. Click here to view the club’s timetable and book via Scopay.

  • Just a reminder that there will be a £5.00 non-refundable fee per child per after-school club (£10.00 for a late club). This is to cover the cost of staffing and resources. There is no fee for lunchtime clubs.
  • Clubs are in high demand. Therefore, we will be operating a waiting list for those unable to secure a place.
  • Do not contact the school office for confirmation of your child’s place, Scopay will only allow you to sign up if places are available.
  • Should your child not attend 2 weeks of a club (without a valid reason), they will be removed from the list and their place will be offered to the next child on the waiting list.
  • No refunds will be offered should your child no longer wish to attend. Club fees cannot be transferred to other clubs/trips/events etc. No refunds will be offered for cancelled clubs.
  • If, for whatever reason, your child is not able to attend the club, you must inform the school office on the day.

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March!
It’s that time of year again where we celebrate reading, books, authors and our favourite characters by taking part in World Book Day, Thursday 5th of March. The theme is Go All In and ties in with the National Year of Reading with the National Literacy Trust. We are aware that providing costumes for children can be expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, like in previous years, it would be lovely if pupils could come to school on World Book Day dressed in something comfy to read in. However, if your child has a costume, they are more than welcome to wear one.

Our House Competition this year is to decorate a potato as a book character! Please bring these into the hall by 8:45 on Thursday the 5th. These will be judged by the house captains.

Each child will receive a book token for £1.00. This can be exchanged for one of a range of specially published books for World Book Day or can be used as £1.00 towards any other book. Most major bookshops and supermarkets will stock the special books. They can also be used at the Scholastic Book Fair that starts on Wednesday 25th March.

The library is running two competitions this year, design a bookmark and write a 6-word story. Winners will be revealed in assembly after World Book Day. We have £5 book vouchers up for grabs to use in the scholastic book fair at the end of March. An overall winner will be picked from each competition. The pupils with the most reads at home will be entered in a raffle for a £5 voucher with a winner from KS1 and KS2.

🎉 Share a Smile Sweet Treat Days🎉

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who participated. We raised a grand total of £233! The money raised will go towards Year 6 end of year events.

Februarys Sticky Questions!

We’re excited to reintroduce Sticky Questions—thought-provoking prompts designed to spark meaningful conversations and develop children’s oracy skills. Each year group will be exploring a different question over the course of the month, encouraging pupils to think deeply, share ideas, and articulate their thoughts clearly. We’d love for you to continue these discussions at home with your child, helping them build confidence in expressing themselves and engaging in dialogue. Look out for this month’s question and enjoy the conversations it inspires!
