Safer Internet Day 2026
On Tuesday, February 10th, Eastover Primary School is proud to be taking part in this year’s Safer Internet Day, joining thousands of schools across the country in promoting responsible, respectful and safe online behaviour. Throughout the day, pupils will engage in activities and discussions designed to help them understand how to navigate the digital world confidently and kindly. It’s a great opportunity for our school community to reflect on the importance of staying safe online and to celebrate the positive ways we can all use technology.
Share a Smile Sweet Treat Day on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February, to celebrate friendship and kindness, children across the school will have the opportunity to buy a chocolate heart for £1 to send to a friend. Each treat comes with a short message where children can write something kind about why they think their friend is special. Each treat, along with the message, will then be delivered by our very helpful Year 6 House Captains on Friday 13th. It’s a lovely way to encourage thoughtful words and positive friendships across the school.
Money raised will go towards Year 6 end‑of‑year events.
World Book Day – 5th March!
More exciting details will be heading your way soon! In the meantime, if you have any unwanted World Book Day costumes looking for a new home, we’d love to take them off your hands! Simply bring them into school. Your donations will help us build a fantastic costume swap for the future—making it easier (and greener!) for everyone to join in the fun.
Around the World Days – 11th & 12th February We are excited to be celebrating our Around the World days on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February, giving children the opportunity to learn more about culture, diversity and belonging.
Children in Years 1 and 2 will be learning about a range of different countries and cultures, exploring traditions, food, music and ways of life from around the world.
Across the rest of the school, children will be thinking more deeply about what it means to belong to Eastover. They will be exploring ideas of culture and belonging through discussion and creative activities, and will be learning how to perform a poem that reflects these important themes.
These two days will be a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate both our wider world and our shared school community. We look forward to sharing some of their learning with you afterwards.

On Your Bike Scheme: The school has been approached by On Your Bike, a shop in town which refurbishes bikes of all sizes. They have a voucher scheme whereby families, who wouldn't be able to afford new bikes, can apply for adult and child bikes. They are safe and serviceable and there are some rules around the ownership of them. If you would like more information, please contact Clair Bedford on 07470673471 or email her at CBedford@eastoverschool.co.uk and she will provide further details.
Februarys Sticky Questions!
We’re excited to reintroduce Sticky Questions—thought-provoking prompts designed to spark meaningful conversations and develop children’s oracy skills. Each year group will be exploring a different question over the course of the month, encouraging pupils to think deeply, share ideas, and articulate their thoughts clearly. We’d love for you to continue these discussions at home with your child, helping them build confidence in expressing themselves and engaging in dialogue. Look out for this month’s question and enjoy the conversations it inspires!
