Whole School:

There are children with severe nut allergies in our school. We ask that you do not send any nuts or products containing nuts in lunchboxes or snacks. This includes items such as peanuts, peanut butter, mixed nuts, and products that contain nuts as an ingredient. All staff have recently been trained in anaphylaxis and allergy training in compliance with Benedict’s law.

Road Safety Reminder

The safety of our children is our highest priority, and we would like to remind all parents and carers to take extra care when dropping off near the school.

We have recently observed vehicles stopping in moving traffic to allow children to get out whilst other vehicles are still approaching from both directions. This creates a significant risk to children, pedestrians and other road users.

Please help us keep everyone safe by:

  • Only stopping in a safe and legal location.
  • Ensuring children do not exit vehicles into moving traffic.
  • Using designated parking areas wherever possible.
  • Encouraging children to leave vehicles on the pavement side when safe to do so.
  • Avoiding stopping in positions that obstruct traffic flow or visibility.

Did You Know?

Our free Breakfast Club is open every school day from 8:15am, providing a safe and welcoming start to the day. Children can enjoy a choice of breakfast options and take part in a range of fun activities before school begins.

Using Breakfast Club can help ease congestion around the school at peak drop-off times while giving children a calm and enjoyable start to their day.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep our school community safe. Together, we can ensure that every child arrives at school safely and ready to learn.

Our School Council is organising a fundraising event to support children living in challenging conditions around the world through the charity School in a Bag. The charity provides essential educational resources to children who may otherwise struggle to access schooling.

Each class has a Smarties tube, and we are asking families if they are able, to donate £1 to help fill the tube. Our aim is for every class to raise enough money to fund 1 school in a bag.

Please return your £1 donation to class by Thursday 22nd October.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us make a positive difference to the lives of children around the world. For more information about School in a Bag, please visit: https://www.schoolinabag.org/

Somerset Council would like to hear from parents and carers about their use of before-school, after-school and holiday childcare.

Whether you currently use childcare or not, we would like to hear your views. Your feedback will help Somerset Council understand what is working well, what challenges families face, and where childcare may be needed in the future.

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete.

Complete the survey here: Parent Carer School-age Childcare in Somerset Survey, Autumn 2026 - Somerset Council - Citizen Space
