Friday 8th January Home learning

To view the videos for Maths and Phonics, please watch them on Tapestry. They are too big a file to upload to the website.

Phase 3 Phonics

Well done everyone, I, sure it probably feels like it’s been a long week of home learning. You’ve all made it to Friday 😀 Today’s phonics is practising the look and say words using the game noughts and crosses or hugs and kisses. Watch the video to see how to play. I will attach a list of phase 2 and 3 look and say words. Focus on the ones you know your child is working on linked to their key word cards.

Here is the link to phonics play to play the game tricky word trucks.

Phase 2 phonics

Well done everyone, I, sure it probably feels like it’s been a long week of home learning. You’ve all made it to Friday 😀

Today’s phonics is recapping some phase 2 sounds we have looked at this week. Can you help your child find different objects around the house that start with these sounds, a bit like a treasure hunt. Take photos of them for us to see.

Practise reading the word the. Can you hide the word around the house for your child to find and say the word.

Here is a link to a game, your child has to match the initial sound with the picture.

Maths

Can you use your bead string that you brought home with your Maths pack. Turn over a number card from the pile or ask your grown up to give you a number and you have to make it on your bead string.

The second game you can use sweets, Lego, cars, pasta etc and you will need two pots or cups that you can’t see through. I used 5 sweets, if you close your eyes so you can’t see how many I put under each pot. You can then have a look under one pot and you have to work out how many there are under the other pot. To extend this you could use 3 pots but only if your child is secure in knowing which pairs go together to make 5.
