Foundation Stage - Spider & Butterfly Class

Curriculum Overviews

Welcome to Our School

We are very excited to meet your child next week. We have been busy preparing some exciting activities for the term ahead.  School will start at 8.50 but school gates will be open from 8.35 to 8.50. You will be dropping your child at the school gate and a member of staff will take them to class. At the end of the day you can come onto the playground to collect your children and gate will be open between 3.10-3.30.

PE

The classes have PE on different days. Butterfly Class will have PE on Friday and Spider Class will have their PE lesson on a Tuesday. Please can children wear their PE kit to school on that day.

Autumn Term News

We will be exploring and learning about "Food, Farms and Fantastic Me". The children will be visiting a local farm, learning about harvest and how foods are harvested around the world. We will also be exploring about the changing seasons too. Please look at the attached overview to find out what your child will be learning about.

On the 24th September there will be some parent training about the new curriculum with a focus on  developing your child's language and reading skills. This is a fun workshop that new parents enjoy and come together to get ideas and also to get to know each other too.

When your child starts school they will be asked to complete some activities linked to language, reading and maths. This is a national assessment for all 4 year olds. The activities are devised with children in mind and are completed with the teacher. All the information linked to this assessment is in the leaflet below. Any questions please see your class teacher.

Welcome to Eastover Primary School - this is a short tour, led by two of our Y6 pupils, of the main areas your child will experience in their first year at our school.

To all our new children and their parents/carers. We are excited to welcome you to Eastover Primary School. You should receive your letter with the induction dates this week (beginning 19th April).

This is an exciting time and the start of another milestone in your child/children's life.

With Covid things are a little different than normal and we will try to post information on this page every couple of weeks.
