Whole School:
- Next week is Health Week. Children can come to school in their PE kits all week. We have a number of activities planned for the week, including sports days, extra PE and a variety of workshops delivered by coaches. Please make sure your child has plenty to drink.
- Due to a technical error, the class photos for FS-Year 5 will be retaken on Wednesday 8th July.
- If your child is due to be in Twilight club on the last day of term (Friday 17th July), the club will close at 4:15pm, please book via the school office and not on MCAS.
- Eastover's photography club completed a very successful half-term. During these sessions they explored photography using iPads and the effects they could use to change the photographs. In order to develop the club and their technique further, we are appealing for donations of digital cameras in good working order that can be used. Please ensure that these are fully wiped before donating.
- Reminder to please return school library books before the end of term.
Sticky Questions for June! We’re excited to reintroduce Sticky Questions—thought-provoking prompts designed to spark meaningful conversations and develop children’s oracy skills. Each year group will be exploring a different question over the course of the month, encouraging pupils to think deeply, share ideas, and articulate their thoughts clearly. We’d love for you to continue these discussions at home with your child, helping them build confidence in expressing themselves and engaging in dialogue. Look out for this month’s question and enjoy the conversations it inspires!
FS: Which would you rather be – a spoon or a fork?
Year 1: Do big, massive, enormous and ginormous all mean different things?
Year 2: If you could ask an animal a question, what would you ask?
Year 3: What are the rules of playfighting?
Year 4: How would you programme a robot to know right from wrong?
Year 5: Do all religious people pray to the same God?
Year 6: If a piece of famous art turns out to be a fake, is it less beautiful?
Important notes for year groups:
Year 1
Brean beach trip is on Thursday 9th July. Please log onto MCAS to pay and give consent.
Please could children bring a sun hat, extra water and have sun cream applied in the morning. Please ensure you have ordered a packed lunch via Innovate or provide one from home.
Year 6
Year 6 have swimming on Monday. Please ensure you are sending your children into school with their swimming kits and towels.
Due to the recent disruption to the school day caused by the hot weather, along with the rescheduling of transition days and sports events, we have made the difficult decision to move our Year 6 production of Dorothy's Adventures in the Land of Oz to the final week of term.
The performances will now take place on:
- Tuesday 14th July – 6:00pm (doors open at 5:45pm)
- Wednesday 15th July – 6:00pm (doors open at 5:45pm)
We appreciate that this change may cause some inconvenience, but it will give the children the valuable rehearsal time they need to put on the best performance possible.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a fantastic show!
Tickets will go on sale next Wednesday (at a cost of £2.50) which can be purchased from your class teacher. Please make sure you know which night you would like to come and how many tickets you require (max 6 per child).
