Whole School:

Please do not ride cycles or scooters on the playground at either ends of the school day. We've had a few near misses and are particularly worried about younger siblings and children in buggies. The children have also been reminded about this.

Please note that children attending after school sports clubs should wear uniform to school and bring a kit with them to change into.

Eastover Primary School Performers proudly present The Story of the Little Mermaid.

Monday 27th April is the last opportunity to buy tickets from Tigers den. Tickets are priced at £2.50 each. The performance will be held in the school hall on Wednesday 6th May and Thursday 7th May at 5:30pm.

New KS1 Summer Term reading challenge!

On Monday, if your child is in Year 1 or 2, they will be bringing home a Summer Reading Challenge with some reading to do over the summer term. When they have completed any of the challenges, they will receive a star sticker to put on the challenge.

It would be lovely if you could send any photos of completed challenges to Hedgehogs@eastoverschool.co.uk to be shared at the Friday KS1 assembly. There will be a prize for the children who complete the challenge first.

Many thanks, Mrs Phillips

Sticky Questions for April!

We’re excited to reintroduce Sticky Questions—thought-provoking prompts designed to spark meaningful conversations and develop children’s oracy skills. Each year group will be exploring a different question over the course of the month, encouraging pupils to think deeply, share ideas, and articulate their thoughts clearly. We’d love for you to continue these discussions at home with your child, helping them build confidence in expressing themselves and engaging in dialogue. Look out for this month’s question and enjoy the conversations it inspires!

FS: If you were an animal would it be more fun to live on the riverbank or in the river itself?

Year 1: If you could be an expert in anything what would it be?

Year 2: Can animals be sorry?

Year 3: What duties do you have to your friends?

Year 4: If you have a cat and know everything you can learn about cats, do you know what it’s like to be a cat?

Year 5: Should the government put extra taxes on foods that are bad for us?

Year 6: If we treat animals differently to us, are we being ‘speciesism’?

Important notes for year groups:

Year 3

Year 3 PE will move to Monday 27th April (This will be a one-off change)

Year 4

Year 4 swimming is on Monday. Please make sure you are sending your children into school with their swimming kits and towels. Children should come to school wearing PE kits to make changing quicker and easier.
