Start Small, Dream Big, Building your Future!

At Eastover Primary, we are exploring careers. This includes understanding different jobs, linking careers to the curriculum, increasing employer encounters and challenging stereotypes. 

 

Careers Day July 2025

NHS man 

Foundation Stage had lots of fun in the Teddy Bear Hospital, learning about the NHS.

 

National Trust

Year 1 and 2 had great fun learning about The National Trust and how important they are.

Platform Rail

Sophie from Platform Rail came in to talk about the different roles within the railway as well as how to safe at a train station!

Olympian - Laura Gallagher

Lots of children loved their visit from Olympian Laura Gallagher and learning all about what it takes to represent our country in the Olympics.

Nurse

Year 4,5 and 6 were visited by a very experienced nurse who spoke all about her long career as a nurse and within the NHS.

Santec

Year 2 were visited by Santec, the company working on the Gravity project within town where they were learning all about bridges and the importance of their strength and foundations. 

UWE Engineering

Year 5 and 6 had a workshop all about engineering but also other roles that work alongside this.

 

Family Solicitor

Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to speak and ask questions to a local family solicitor.

 

Careers Day 

Throughout the day, the children researched and spoke about a dream job role or career they want to pursue, looking at what skills and qualifications they may need in the future to achieve this.
